Indian Navy’s frontline stealth frigate INS Sahyadri and missile corvette INS Kulish successfully concluded their participation in the Suibic Bay area along with naval ships from Japan and Philippines.
Both the Indian Navy ships were deployed at the 23rd ADMM-Plus Experts’ Working Group on Maritime Security Joint Cooperation Activity (EWG-MS JCA) an exercise at sea that culminated with the Closing Ceremony held on 25 September 2026.
The joint activity commenced on 21 September 2026 with an Opening Ceremony at Naval Operating Base Subic, hosted by the Philippine Navy and co-chaired by Japan.
According to a release by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) the Harbour Phase featured a series of Subject Matter Expert Exchanges covering peace and security, the ASEAN Navy Chiefs’ Meeting and Guidelines for Maritime Interaction (ANCM-GMI), senior enlisted leadership, and marine environmental protection.
The programme also included sporting events, an International Day, and a Cultural Show, fostering camaraderie among participating nations.
On 22 September 2026, Indian naval personnel took part in Operational Synchronisation sessions and a Tabletop Exercise, followed by a Pre-Sail Conference aimed at coordinating activities for the Sea Phase.

As part of the outreach initiative, a community engagement programme was conducted at the Shepherds of the Hill Center in Zambales.
The Sea Phase comprised a range of coordinated operational serials, including Search and Rescue (SAR), Hydrographic Survey operations, Casualty and Medical Evacuation drills, Deck Landing Qualification exercises, and assistance to vessels aground.
These activities provided valuable opportunities to enhance operational coordination, strengthen interoperability, and promote best practices in maritime security operations.
